Director of Marketing and Customer Service

Job duties and responsibilities

The Director of Marketing and Customer Service is responsible for designing, planning and implementing the company’s marketing activities and the customer service operations. Such activities will target both short- and long-term company goals and cover existing and new markets. Such duties and responsibilities are to be performed personally or through subordinates and include, but are not limited to the following:
  1. Act as strategic business partner to CEO
  2. Serve as a key member of executive leadership team
  3. Present to the Board of Directors as required
  4. Recruit and train sales marketing and customer service staff as required.
  5. Develop and implement strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and services
  6. Work in concert with the Director of Sales and Distribution in synchronizing marketing and sales activities.
  7. Develop and manage marketing and customer service operating budgets
  8. Develop marketing and customer service performance measures
  9. Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities including print, TV, radio, and social media
  10. Ensure effective control of marketing results and take corrective actions to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets
  11. Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
  12. Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events
  13. Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products
  14. Meet with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
  15. Prepare periodic report showing results of marketing activities, projections and areas of proposed expansion
  16. Review and analyze sales performances against programs, quotas and plans to determine effectiveness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field
  • At least seven years of work experience including at least three years in a management role
  • Transformative approach to leadership that inspires and empowers others
  • Aware of the latest market trends and shifts, as well as projections for the future
  • Evidence of ability to innovate and implement change successfully
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Able to be persuasive and procure buy-in from upper management

Reporting Structure

  • Director of Marketing and Customer Service will report directly to the company CEO
  • Following areas will report to the Director of Marketing and customer Service:
    • Marketing
    • Customer Service
    • Other areas as appropriate

Compensation

  • Salary based on experience and qualification
  • Total compensation will be competitive with marketplace and will include a significant performance-based bonus
